A court in the country has given a nine-year jail sentence to former Brazilian president Luis Inacio Lula de Silva for corruption. However, he will be able to appeal against the verdict.

It is known that from 2003 to 2011, Lula served as president of Brazil. Complaining against Brazil’s popular leader, he took a bribe of US $ 2.1 million on condition of getting the job of state oil company Petrobras.
This money is spent on the beauty of an apartment in the coastal sea. Lula expressed his desire to participate in the Brazilian presidential election next year. The supporters of the former president have claimed that this initiative has been taken by the government to prevent Lula from contesting elections.
